SICOT offers to the SAARC Countries to become the Friendship Nations 2013



SICOT, the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, would like to offer all SAARC Countries the opportunity to become Friendship Nations of SICOT for the 34th Orthopaedic World Conference 2013 in Hyderabad, India .

With this distinction, SICOT acknowledges the growing importance of surgeons from the South Asian region in the international orthopaedic family and it is our aim to foster scientific and social relations with the National Societies from within this area.

SICOT is pleased to offer to the National Societies of the SAARC countries its members and all colleagues from this region the following advantages:


1. Guest Symposium

The Friendship Nations (FN) will choose the topic, 5 speakers maximum, and a chairman of its choice for the Guest Symposium (90 minutes).


2. Welcome speech (5 minutes)

A Representative of these Societies will be invited to deliver a welcome speech (5 minutes) at the Opening Ceremony.


4. Free congress registration

All Presidents and a second officer of the National Societies will receive free registration to the congress


5. Invitation to the Presidents' Dinner

All Presidents and a second officer with their spouses will receive an official invitation to the Presidents' Dinner.


6. Reduced membership fees


All new Full Members (aged over 40) from the SAARC Countries will be exempt from paying the entry fee of 50 EUR to join SICOT. The annual membership fee will be reduced to 50 EUR each in 2012 and 2013.


All new Associate Members (aged under 40) from the SAARC Countries will

have their annual membership fee reduced to 20 EUR each in 2012 and 2013.

As members of SICOT they will be able to take advantage of the reduced members congress fee for the Orthopaedic World Conference in Dubai in 2012 as well as for 2013 in Hyderabad.
